Charlie St. Cyr, a name already making a rise in the entertainment industry, has reached another milestone with a breakthrough role that could potentially mark his name down in history! Known for his success as an actor, fitness model, celebrity trainer, and pro bodybuilder, St. Cyr, born Charlie Devontè Marshall in New Orleans, Louisiana, is confirmed to be starring in the upcoming series “Sashes and Hearts” and receiving recognition in the international film industry. After years of working in the US based commercial and film industry, Charlie has taken a leap into the international film industry over in the Philippines. Being known for his sexy role in “The Wedding Hustler” movie in the US to now starring in a new Asian Bl series in the Philippines called “Sashes and Hearts”, he may just be making history.

Welcome, Charlie! First off, congratulations on your role in “Sashes and Hearts.” Can you tell us more about the series?

Charlie St. Cyr: The series by OxinFilms called ‘Sashes and Hearts” is the newest Boys’ Love series here based in the Philippines that delves into the world of male pageantry. Ivan Cojuangco plays one of the lead character’s named Jack, a determined and passionate candidate who wins a national pageant and gears up for an international competition. However, as he chases his dream, he faces the harsh realities and controversies surrounding male pageantry, putting his resilience and integrity to the test.

Speaking of the series, give us a glimpse into “Sashes and Hearts.” What is it about, and who do you play?

Charlie St. Cyr: I play the role of Daniel Smith. Daniel is essentially the USA pageant winner who travels to the Philippines to compete in the international competition. He has a sense of entitlement, and he believes he’s superior to all the other candidates. His primary goal is to win the crown and will do whatever it takes to take home the crown. Even if that means sabotaging the other candidates and doing special favors for those with power.

Now, something really remarkable has been brought to our attention—the potential significance of your role in the BL landscape. Could you elaborate on that?

Charlie St. Cyr : Throughout all the Asian BL series, if ever there was a Black person seen in the show, they were a black person who was born and raised in that Asian country and usually also half black. So if research is correct, it seems allegedly that I will be the first Black American actor who was born and raised in America to have joined the cast of a Filipino BL series. Maybe I am making history in the BL World.”

That’s truly inspiring! Do you have a favorite scene from the series you can share with us?

Charlie St. Cyr : Definitely! My favorite scene to shoot was a scene in the hotel suite with the pageant manager, Lemuel. The scene is a bit suggestive, with some flirtatious dialogue, but our characters also bring some humor into the scene.

As contestants go for the crown, romantic entanglements arise, intertwined with betrayal and ambition. The tension between Jack and Daniel provides a captivating dynamic.
