Selected work in Mark DeGarmo Dance’s 15th Anniversary Virtual Salon Performance Series for Social Change 2025, this is an immersive multimedia solo performance that challenges the illusions of innocence and the veiled nature of exploitation. Through a surreal dreamscape of light, movement, and visual storytelling, it unravels how beauty is often a façade for control, how celebration can mask coercion, and how desire is manipulated into entrapment. The audience is invited to witness, participate, and ultimately question: when the veil is lifted, what remains?

Artist Statement: 

Yixin Wang is an Performance Artist, Actor, and Teaching Artist who lives in Los Angeles. Originally from China, she is passionate about creating work that transcends and lives between cultures and languages. 

Her personal works have been performed at La MaMa (New York), Lincoln Center (New York), and Paramount Theatre (Boston). Acting credits include “Men on Boats” (Semel Theatre, Boston),”KODAMA” (American Film Institute, Los Angeles), “Street Fighter” (New Generation Pictures, Los Angeles), and “Sexual Enlightenment” (Beijing Film Academy, China). Among these, “KODAMA” and “Sexual Enlightenment” have earned accolades at festivals such as the winner of 2023 Korea International Short Film Festival and 2023 New York International Film Festival, the Finalist of the 21st Miami Short Film Festival and the Semi Finalist of the 25th Rhode Island International Film Festival. Her personal piece “Are You the Last Slice?”will be featured in the experimental art show series, “Co-Creation Project” at CICA Museum. She is also the co-founder of  “Mou Theatre” at New York University.
